Sevco Security forms partnership with GuidePoint Security
Sevco Security has announced a strategic reseller partnership with GuidePoint Security.
This new arrangement aims to provide GuidePoint Security customers with access to Sevco's Asset Intelligence Platform, which is designed to identify and remediate unaddressed vulnerabilities across IT networks.
By leveraging Sevco's platform, GuidePoint Security clients will gain enhanced visibility into their IT environments. The platform offers substantial features including asset intelligence, attack surface visibility, and exposure management capabilities. These functionalities are intended to unearth previously unknown vulnerabilities and provide a clearer understanding of the cyber risks that typically remain hidden within an enterprise IT infrastructure. This increased visibility is expected to improve stakeholder accountability and assist Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and security teams in making well-informed decisions regarding risk prioritisation and mitigation.
J.J. Guy, CEO and co-founder of Sevco Security, commented on the challenges faced by cybersecurity teams: "For years cybersecurity teams have struggled to obtain an accurate inventory of the assets within their environments, especially when siloed teams work with siloed tools. That is why we created Sevco, to provide organisations with a comprehensive view into the state of their assets and controls. As the platform has grown, we've developed additional capabilities to help organisations drive more deliberate and proactive cybersecurity practices. We're excited to have the opportunity to bring our platform and intelligence to GuidePoint's customers."
As IT environments continue to evolve and grow in complexity, CISOs and security teams often find it difficult to achieve comprehensive visibility into the assets and tools connected to their networks. Sevco's Asset Intelligence Platform offers greater transparency into the devices, users, software, and controls functioning within an organisation's IT environment. This insight helps in identifying exposures ranging from software vulnerabilities like Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) to environmental vulnerabilities such as under-deployed security tools, which can compromise security frameworks and hinder the ability to address known risks.
The platform's comprehensive visibility, combined with Sevco's exposure management capabilities, enables the automation and validation of vulnerability remediation. It highlights unique metrics such as the mean time to remediate, breaches of remediation Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and patch efficacy. These metrics are intended to provide clear insights for CISOs, security, and IT teams about their remediation programmes, promoting cross-team accountability and breaking down departmental silos.
Justin Iwaniszyn, director of new and emerging alliances at GuidePoint Security, articulated the significance of the partnership: "Amid today's increasingly complex digital landscape, evolving attack surfaces, and growing cyber threats, comprehensive asset intelligence is a necessity to mitigate risk. Our partnership with Sevco can help joint customers achieve enhanced visibility into their security environments to optimise security operations and improve their overall security posture."
