Nureva unveils HDX pro audio series for large hybrid spaces

Today

Nureva has announced the HDX pro audio series, designed for large classrooms and meeting spaces up to 60 feet by 40 feet in size.

The HDX series aims to address the expanding needs of higher education, corporate, and other organisations that require effective solutions for in-room and remote conferencing audio in larger spaces. The system offers adaptive voice lift, distributed speaker coverage, assistive listening with AuracastTM, and compatibility with AI conferencing platforms including Microsoft Copilot and Zoom's AI Companion.

According to Nureva, the HDX series builds on the HDX pro series and seeks to provide a comprehensive audio solution tailored for IT teams managing diverse and evolving requirements. This includes not only standard room microphone pickup but also high-quality in-room media playback, voice amplification, assistive listening, lesson capture, meeting recording, and integration with AI agents.

The HDX system is made up of configurable components that can be tailored to room size and user requirements. It includes a choice of two or four wall-mounted audio bars and up to two optional microphone pods for adaptive voice lift and enhanced microphone coverage. All hardware connects to the system hub via single-cable AV-over-IP, designed to simplify installation and set-up for IT professionals.

Nureva reports that its patented Microphone MistTM technology is at the centre of the HDX series. Microphone MistTM employs a unified coverage map created by automatically coordinated microphones across all components, forming an extensive microphone array for full-room coverage, consistent audio pickup, and maximum gain in large spaces.

One of the main features highlighted is Adaptive Voice Lift, which dynamically adjusts voice amplification according to the speaker's position. The company states this is achieved without the need for dedicated microphones or complex configurations. Full-range loudspeakers, distributed across the room, aim to enhance in-room sound for presentations, media playback, and general use.

AI features

The HDX series features integration with AI capabilities, supporting platforms like Microsoft Copilot and Zoom's AI Companion. It utilises trained AI models to perform voice detection, accurately identifying human speech amidst other noises, thereby improving audio location accuracy and camera tracking. In addition, noise suppression AI is used to filter out transient background sounds including chair squeaks and rustling paper. Nureva suggests these tools offer a valuable complement to unified communication and collaboration platforms that lack built-in noise suppression.

"Nureva continues to push the envelope by simplifying complex audio challenges in large spaces. With the new HDX series, Nureva makes in-demand features like distributed audio and voice lift not just possible, but easy to deploy and manage," said Ira M. Weinstein, founder and principal analyst at Recon Research.

Simplified installation and sustainability

HDX systems are designed with scalability in mind and can be installed in various configurations, featuring two or four audio bars, with the option to mount microphones on walls or ceiling T-bar rails. All components use single-cable connections to the central system hub. Installation and deployment are further supported by a user-friendly configurator tool and the Nureva acoustic check tool, which is available via the iOS version of the Nureva App. The acoustic check tool measures background noise and reverberation, providing a room acoustics score and guidance for optimal audio bar placement.

From an environmental perspective, the HDX series incorporates energy-efficient sleep modes, passive cooling, and uses materials such as 30% post-consumer recycled plastics and 95% recycled fabrics. Packaging is specified to be 99% recyclable, utilising biodegradable moulded pulp and optimised dimensions to minimise waste during transportation and palletisation.

User demand

The need for systems like HDX has grown as educational and professional environments adapt to hybrid learning and collaborative work. Nancy Knowlton, CEO of Nureva, commented:

"With higher education institutions rapidly adopting HyFlex learning models and office environments transforming into flexible collaboration hubs, demand has surged for full-featured audio solutions that support a broad range of in-room and remote conferencing needs in larger spaces. Our HDX series meets this demand with an unmatched combination of simplicity and performance that helps IT professionals fully serve the needs of their users while making the best use of their resources," said Nancy Knowlton, CEO of Nureva.

Key features of the series include adaptive voice amplification for presenters using wireless microphones, automatic full-room microphone coverage for remote participants, audio recording capabilities for lectures and meetings, and built-in AuracastTM broadcast technology for assistive listening. The configurator and acoustic check tools are designed to simplify deployment without requiring the involvement of AV specialists.

The system is also designed with a view towards future scalability, enabling organisations to reconfigure audio setups as requirements change or expand. According to Nureva, this approach offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional professional AV solutions that often require specialised installation and maintenance teams.

The HDX series will be available to order later in the year, with shipping expected in early 2026.
