KnowBe4 has appointed Kurt Mills as Channel Chief, adding a senior executive to oversee its partner strategy.

Mills will lead the company's global partner programmes, operations and channel routes to market. The appointment is part of a broader effort to expand KnowBe4's partner ecosystem and support partner-led sales.

He brings more than 25 years of channel experience in cybersecurity and related software markets. Previous roles include executive channel and partner sales positions at Check Point Software Technologies, Mimecast, FireMon and Blue Coat Systems.

KnowBe4 is also expanding its broader channel leadership team. It recently appointed Neill Burton and John Noha as Vice Presidents of Channel to support global initiatives.

The expansion comes as cybersecurity vendors place greater emphasis on resellers, managed service providers, systems integrators, distributors and technology partners to reach customers and deliver services. Channel leaders are increasingly responsible for aligning sales coverage, partner incentives and programme design with broader revenue plans.

Mills will guide the next stage of development for KnowBe4's partner organisation as those relationships take on a larger role in the customer lifecycle. The company, which focuses on security awareness training, attack simulation, email and collaboration security, serves more than 70,000 organisations worldwide.

Bryan Palma, Chief Executive Officer of KnowBe4, linked the appointment to that strategy.

"Partner ecosystem growth is central to our mission, and Kurt's appointment reflects our continued investment in that strategy," said Bryan Palma, Chief Executive Officer of KnowBe4. "Kurt's deep channel expertise, proven ability to scale high-performing teams, and track record of building long-term partner value will be instrumental as we expand our market reach."

Mills has spent much of his career working on partner models designed to support revenue growth through indirect sales. His experience includes building teams and partner networks during periods of market expansion, acquisitions and public listings.

Channel build-out

The appointment points to a more formalised channel structure as the company seeks to scale programmes and partner support across multiple markets. In practical terms, that can include changes to programme tiers, incentives, training, operational support and joint selling arrangements.

KnowBe4 described the broader effort as a company-wide commitment to scaling partner programmes, teams and enablement across its global channel. The approach is intended to give partners the tools and resources needed to identify new business and support customers more closely.

For cybersecurity suppliers, channel leadership roles have become more prominent as buying decisions spread across direct and indirect models. Many vendors now rely on partners not only for product fulfilment, but also for advisory work, implementation and recurring managed services.

That shift has been especially visible in segments where customer needs span user training, threat prevention and policy enforcement, all of which may involve multiple service providers. Vendors in these markets often use channel teams to improve consistency in how partners sell, support and package services around the core offering.

Mills set out his view of the role in a company statement.

"Joining the KnowBe4 team at this critical point in the company's growth is an incredible opportunity," said Kurt Mills, Channel Chief at KnowBe4. "I've built my career on creating focused, measurable, and engaged teams that drive mutual success for organizations and their partners. I am thrilled to team up with everyone at KnowBe4 to scale our partner programs, deepen our relationships across VARs, MSPs, SIs, distributors, and tech partners, and fuel our next phase of global growth."

Mills will oversee the evolution of KnowBe4's partner programmes and operating model as the company expands its global channel organisation.
