Insight expands APAC cyber security with planned Sekuro acquisition
Insight Enterprises has announced its subsidiary, Insight Enterprises Australia, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sekuro, an Australian provider of cyber security, governance, and digital resiliency services.
The agreement, which is subject to customary conditions precedent, is expected to complete in early November 2025. This step comes as the Asia Pacific (APAC) region continues to see a significant increase in cyber threats, with a 38% year-on-year rise in data breaches reported in 2024.
Expansion in APAC
This acquisition is set to significantly increase Insight's cyber security capabilities in APAC. According to the company, expanding its reach in this area will allow it to support organisations that are navigating increasingly complex threat landscapes.
Sekuro has developed a portfolio that includes clients such as Canva, Atlassian, and Salesforce. The company also employs over 200 cybersecurity professionals and holds more than 450 certifications across platforms including CrowdStrike, Microsoft, AWS, Zscaler, and Okta.
Addressing market needs
In the past year, organisations throughout APAC have faced mounting pressures due to an increase in data breaches and cyber risks. Insight's move to acquire Sekuro comes as customers are seeking guidance and services to shift from reactive to proactive security approaches.
"Cyber security is no longer just an IT issue; it's a critical business imperative. Clients across the APAC region are looking for a trusted partner to build resilience against sophisticated threats," said Mike Morgan, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Insight APAC. "Sekuro would bring a team of deeply respected experts and a powerful portfolio of services that perfectly complement our existing capabilities. This acquisition will strengthen our position as the leading Solutions Integrator and enable us to deliver comprehensive security outcomes for our clients."
Sekuro was founded in 2021 and has since built a strong reputation for growth and delivery. The company's services include 24/7 managed security services, governance, and risk and compliance (GRC), with particular expertise in Australian government IRAP (Information Security Registered Assessors Programme) assessments.
Offering and capability
Sekuro designs, builds, and optimises public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms, assisting clients in securing both networks and applications. Its team has achieved more than 450 technical certifications, supporting its comprehensive offering across multiple cyber domains.
The integration of Sekuro's services is expected to bolster Insight's cybersecurity and digital resiliency capabilities worldwide, providing Insight's clients with enhanced access to end-to-end security services.
Baker McKenzie is acting as Insight's legal counsel for this transaction, while Equiteq is serving as Sekuro's financial advisor. Both firms are supporting the execution of the deal, which is scheduled to complete by early November 2025.
Upon completion, the acquisition is anticipated to give Insight a greater ability to deliver security services in the rapidly evolving APAC region, reinforcing the firm's position as a provider of cyber security solutions for a broad base of enterprise and government customers.
