Thu, 5th Feb 2026

Global Technology Industry Association has set out plans to increase its charitable giving to USD $5 million in 2026, after distributing USD $1.91 million to 45 non-profit organisations during 2025.

The association said the 2026 figure represents an increase of more than 160% compared with the USD $1.9 million it contributed in 2025. It said its members directed the 2025 funding and backed the selection of recipients.

The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) described the 2025 total as a combination of grantmaking, community-based initiatives, and volunteer activity. It said programmes covered education, healthcare, workforce readiness and community development.

"Philanthropy has long been central to GTIA's mission," said Kelly Ricker, Chief Operating Officer, GTIA. "In 2025, our members helped us take decisive steps to scale our impact-investing in organizations that use technology to expand opportunities, promote equity and create lasting change. Every advancement we make in our giving programs is driven by the commitment and shared purpose of our member community. Their leadership ensures that innovation truly benefits communities worldwide."

Giving framework

GTIA said it launched an enhanced philanthropic framework in 2025. It said the work included member-directed giving, host-city support linked to locations where GTIA held events, and a new grantmaking initiative open to non-profits worldwide.

GTIA reported total giving of USD $1,910,310 for 2025. It said it supported 45 non-profits across multiple regions.

Among the newly announced 2025 grant recipients, the Roger Federer Charitable Fund received USD $200,000 for work across multiple countries in Africa. GTIA said the funding supports early childhood education through long-term partnerships with local organisations.

TechPoint Youth in Indianapolis received USD $200,000. GTIA described the organisation as focused on expanding access to robotics and technology education across Indiana.

Tech She Can in London received USD $200,000. GTIA described it as a tech careers education and social mobility charity.

Cohen Children's Medical Centre in New Hyde Park, New York, received USD $125,000. GTIA described it as a provider of paediatric health services in New York.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island in Westbury, New York, received USD $75,000. GTIA described it as a mentoring organisation that matches adults with local children.

Several organisations received USD $50,000 grants. They included AnnieCannons in Oakland, which GTIA said trains people who have experienced human trafficking for careers in tech. They also included CitySchools Collaborative in Washington, Clayton Early Learning in Denver, MACIR in Boston, The Oakland REACH in Oakland, PeerForward in Washington, and Wezesha in Dar es Salaam.

TechSoup in San Francisco received USD $41,500. New Haven Schools Foundation in Union City, California, received USD $40,170.

CaseAid Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia, received USD $40,000. WeReach in East Boston received USD $40,000. Screen Share UK in London received USD $38,640.

Host-city grants

GTIA said its host-city initiative awarded a USD $50,000 grant to Black Lemonade, a non-profit based in Nashville. It said the funding supports the group's Digital Black programme. It described the programme as expanding access to career-aligned technology education.

The association also outlined volunteer projects tied to its events. It said that at ChannelCon Nashville, volunteers assembled and donated 35 new electric guitars to Instruments for Education.

GTIA said that at ChannelCon EMEA, delegates packed 300 school bags with essential supplies for children affected by Storm Melissa in Jamaica. It said the activity supported educational recovery and resilience.

2026 expansion

GTIA said it will expand philanthropic investment in 2026. It said the programme will strengthen global partnerships and scale initiatives that leverage technology to drive economic opportunity and social outcomes.

"This year's milestone reflects our organization-wide commitment to responsible leadership and community impact," said Ricker. "Together with our grantee partners, we are ensuring technology serves as a powerful force for positive change - now and into the future."
