Tricentis acquires SeaLights to bolster software quality intelligence
Tricentis, a global entity in AI-powered continuous testing and quality engineering, has declared the acquisition of SeaLights, a software quality intelligence platform based on SaaS.
This development reinforces Tricentis' commitment to enhancing software quality engineering, offering improved insights into code and tests throughout the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
Established in 2015, SeaLights utilises machine learning to pinpoint quality risks during software releases. This technology grants enterprises the ability to deliver high-quality software expeditiously by mapping code to tests and evaluating modified code. SeaLights' approach focuses on minimising functional tests, thereby saving time and accelerating release delivery.
Kevin Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of Tricentis, remarked, "In today's complex, fast-moving IT environments, AI-powered quality intelligence is an absolute game-changer. Tricentis pioneered the quality intelligence category with robust coverage for SAP environments, and the additional capabilities of SeaLights further extend the dominance of our comprehensive quality intelligence solutions to a wide array of applications and environments."
Tricentis' acquisition of SeaLights allows the company to provide its customers with AI-enabled quality intelligence beyond SAP environments, extending into both custom and packaged applications. This includes features such as test impact analysis, quality risk management, root cause analysis, and support for all programming languages. Such enhancements enable software development teams to identify the impact new code changes could have, assess associated risks, and address code coverage gaps, ensuring a seamless automation testing cycle.
Eran Sher, CEO and Co-founder of SeaLights, who will now join Tricentis as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Quality Intelligence, expressed enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to join forces with Tricentis, the leader in continuous testing and quality engineering. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our journey, enabling us to expand our reach and impact. Together, we will transform the way organisations approach software quality, making it more intelligent, efficient, and reliable. Our combined expertise will drive the next generation of quality intelligence, setting a new standard for the industry."
This acquisition is Tricentis' second in the past twelve months, following the purchase of Waldo in July 2023. Tricentis, which was founded in 2007, currently serves over 3,000 customers across 19 countries, including more than half of the Fortune 500 companies.
