Swimlane & Macnica partner to expand Turbine in APJ & META regions
Swimlane has announced a global partnership with Macnica aimed at facilitating greater scale and adoption of Swimlane's Turbine across the Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) and Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) regions.
This collaboration grants Macnica access to Turbine, allowing the creation of an advanced automation practice through its network of distributors and resellers. The goal is to leverage AI-enhanced security automation across regions.
The introduction of Turbine will enable robust automation through several of Macnica's primary use cases, including insider threat, Zero Trust, cloud security, operational technology (OT) security, web security, and extended detection and response (XDR). The implementation of Turbine is said to move beyond vendor-locked XDR, limited security information and event management (SIEM) and security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) offerings, as well as basic no-code automation tools.
According to the 2023 ISC2 Cybersecurity Workforce Study, the workforce gap increased by 12.6% in 2023, with the APJ and META regions experiencing a steep rise of 12%. The report revealed that 71% of cybersecurity professionals in these regions believe the current threat landscape is the most challenging it has been in the past five years. Additionally, 62% of respondents indicated that budget cuts and layoffs have negatively impacted their ability to respond to threats, highlighting the challenge faced by security operations teams who are burdened by manual, repetitive tasks.
Yusuke Kobayashi, Macnica Networks Company President, commented, "The cybersecurity landscape in APJ is reaching a tipping point, with alert fatigue crippling SOC teams and the talent shortage leaving them stretched thin. This is why Macnica is thrilled to join forces with Swimlane to bring Turbine's best-in-class low-code automation and AI capabilities to a wider regional audience. Equipping our partners with these solutions will empower them to deliver significant value to their customers, helping them automate workflows, streamline operations and maximise the effectiveness of their security teams."
Swimlane CEO, James Brear, remarked, "This partnership with Macnica is a game-changer for the APJ and META regions as it extends access to world-class automation that previously wasn't attainable. Macnica is a recognised leader when it comes to distributing industry-leading technology, and now as a Swimlane partner, they are empowering their vast network to deliver the full force of Turbine's AI-enhanced and low-code capabilities."
Through this partnership, Macnica partners will have access to various benefits such as simplified integrations. Swimlane will assume responsibility for most integrations, including developing new integrations, maintaining existing ones, and updating old ones when changes occur. The platform also offers extensive customisation capabilities, enabling Macnica customers to implement tailored security automation solutions across a diverse range of use cases.
Turbine aims to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of security analysts by automating routine workflows and ensuring data handling aligns with organisational security policies. It features Hero AI, a collection of AI-enhanced innovations powered by Swimlane's large language model, to boost efficiency and accuracy, thereby promoting a more effective security posture.
