Nerdio unveils unified Microsoft 365 & AVD solution for MSPs

Thu, 17th Apr 2025

Nerdio has announced Nerdio Manager for MSP 6.0, introducing new tools and expanded capabilities for managed service providers to streamline the management of Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.

Nerdio Manager for MSP 6.0 aims to address a broad range of IT and operational challenges that managed service providers (MSPs) face when handling Microsoft 365 and AVD deployments, particularly for small and medium-sized business clients. The latest update reflects an expansion in focus beyond Azure Virtual Desktop, positioning Microsoft 365 management as a central aspect of the platform.

The company states that NMM 6.0 provides functions to reduce operational complexity and manual intervention while improving security and compliance. It also offers efficiency improvements through new automation features, tenant monitoring, and integration with professional services automation platforms.

According to a company spokesperson, existing remote monitoring and management solutions typically handle Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop separately. By incorporating support for both within a single workflow, the update is designed to decrease tool proliferation and operational inefficiency for managed service providers.

Vadim Vladimirskiy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Nerdio, said, "Today's MSPs support their SMB customers with a lot more than just Azure Virtual Desktop. In the past, they've relied on a disparate mix of tools to manage Microsoft 365 and AVD, which has proven to be a costly and cumbersome process. Nerdio has evolved alongside MSPs to offer a better alternative, expanding NMM to support both Microsoft 365 and AVD seamlessly in a single package. Unlike other solutions, Nerdio Manager for MSP is purpose-built for MSPs, with multi-tenant management, automation, and security best practices baked in."

Nerdio Manager for MSP 6.0 introduces more than ten new capabilities targeted at the Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop ecosystem. Key new features include Auto-Scale Profiles, which allows MSPs to set custom scaling rules based on time, workload or user demand, enabling resources to adjust automatically. The Tenant Monitoring feature offers real-time insights, performance metrics, and alerting, aimed at proactive problem resolution and informed service delivery.

The update adds Azure Government Support, enabling compliance with regulations and security standards required by government cloud deployments. This enhancement is positioned to help MSPs serve new customer categories, including agencies and regulated industries that have specific requirements.

An early access preview of a redesigned user interface is also included, offering what the company says is a more intuitive navigation structure. The Application Discovery for Images tool automates the identification and inventory of installed applications within image files, which can reduce the risk of deployment errors and decrease the reliance on manual tracking.

Amol Dalvi, Vice President of Product & Engineering at Nerdio, commented, "This latest release offers a massive leap forward for modern MSPs that see their clients' Microsoft 365 deployments expand rapidly. Nerdio Manager for MSP 6.0 introduces a variety of automation, security, and troubleshooting features that help simplify, optimise, and safeguard Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop environments. NMM 6.0's innovative auto-scale profiles and application discovery tools make automation easy to implement and manage. Meanwhile, expanded CIS coverage and Azure Government support help MSPs ensure that Microsoft 365 and AVD deployments meet the latest security standards with minimal effort."

The release of Nerdio Manager for MSP 6.0 supports features such as multi-tenant management intended for managed service providers operating across multiple customer environments, along with automation and security controls aligned to industry best practices.

The new version aims to offer an end-to-end solution for managed service providers consolidating Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop management within one unified platform instead of relying on separate tools and manual workflows.
