Lexar blends AFA football tie-up with India expo push
Lexar is set to present a range of storage and memory products at the 33rd Convergence India Expo 2026 in New Delhi, with a stand theme linked to its partnership with the Argentina National Football Team.
Lexar will exhibit at Bharat Mandapam during the three-day event. The showcase will span products for gaming, IT infrastructure, surveillance, artificial intelligence, media production, and professional photography.
Convergence India has become a regular fixture for vendors selling into India's fast-growing consumer and enterprise technology markets. Storage makers use the event to reach PC builders, content creators, channel partners, and corporate buyers managing rising data needs.
The exhibition will focus on devices designed for higher capacity and faster data access, alongside demonstrations aimed at both professional workflows and consumer use cases.
Football partnership
A central part of the stand is expected to draw on Lexar's recent global partnership with the Argentina National Football Team, often referred to by the Spanish acronym AFA. Lexar plans to use Lexar-AFA branding at the event.
The partnership pairs a sports property with a consumer technology brand as athlete and fan content drives storage demand. Smartphones, action cameras, mirrorless cameras, and gaming devices have increased use of removable cards and portable solid-state drives.
Rajeev Anand, Sales Director - India at Lexar, said the partnership reflects shared positioning around performance and professional users.
"Lexar and AFA share a commitment of leadership, professionalism, and global excellence. Lexar's thirty-year track record in high-reliability storage makes us an ideal partner to support the creators, professionals, and fans who document and celebrate our sport worldwide. While Argentina continues to lead global football with three World Cup championships, Lexar is advancing the future of storage with next-generation solutions designed for professional content workflows, immersive gaming, and the evolving needs of fans who capture and preserve their personal football memories."
The collaboration will also include co-branded products. AFA editions of the Lexar Air Portable SSD and the Lexar SL500 Portable SSD are expected in the first half of 2026.
Product line-up
At the expo, Lexar will show products across professional imaging, SSDs, DRAM, and portable storage, positioned for creators, gamers, and everyday users.
For professional imaging and sports coverage, Lexar highlighted the Lexar Professional DIAMOND CFexpress 4.0 Type B Card. CFexpress cards are used in professional cameras for high-resolution stills and video, including workflows that require sustained write performance for continuous shooting and high-bitrate recording.
In gaming storage, Lexar will feature the Lexar PLAY X PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. NVMe SSDs are common upgrades for gaming PCs and are increasingly used in consoles and portable gaming devices. Faster storage can reduce load times and support larger game installs as publishers add higher-resolution textures and more complex assets.
Lexar will also display the Lexar Professional Go Portable SSD with Hub, which supports Apple ProRes 4K recording. Portable SSDs are used by videographers and mobile creators for external capture and transfer, while hub designs can appeal to users who want additional ports and storage in one device.
The wider portfolio on show will also include memory products and portable drives for broader consumer and small business use, a competitive segment where buyers compare performance specifications, endurance ratings, and warranty terms.
Market context
India's growth in gaming, online video, and creator-led media has increased demand for storage across multiple price points. Corporate IT teams and surveillance operators continue to expand local storage for recording and retention while balancing cloud use and data sovereignty requirements.
Lexar has cited product milestones as part of its brand story, including what it described as the world's first all-metal SD card and the industry's first 1TB microSD Express card.
Convergence India gives Lexar a platform to engage channel partners and buyers assessing refresh cycles for PCs, cameras, and edge storage deployments. The exhibit will cover applications from professional content workflows to personal media archiving, alongside the upcoming AFA co-branded portable SSDs expected in the first half of 2026.
