DigiCert named leader in Frost trust ecosystem radar

DigiCert has been named a top-tier digital trust leader in Frost & Sullivan's 2026 Digital Trust and eSignature Ecosystem Radar, placing it in the leadership cluster for both innovation and growth.

Frost & Sullivan said the ranking reflects demand from large organisations for cryptographic trust systems that support digital transactions at scale. The assessment examined vendors providing digital trust and electronic signature services as companies face tighter security requirements and a more complex online fraud environment.

The report also highlighted a broader market shift beyond basic e-signature tools. Organisations increasingly want systems that verify the identity behind a signature and preserve proof that a document has not been altered over time.

That issue has grown more prominent as AI-generated content becomes more common and companies look for stronger ways to prove the authenticity of records, contracts and filings. Businesses also face regulatory pressure in several jurisdictions, including changes tied to eIDAS 2.0 and the European Digital Identity Wallet framework.

DigiCert said its approach is built around cryptographic proof that confirms who signed a document, shows the content has not been altered and retains evidence that can be checked later. It said this applies to procurement contracts, supplier agreements, regulatory filings, purchase orders and employment contracts.

According to DigiCert, its DigiCert ONE platform brings those functions together in a single system and is designed to help organisations manage digital trust across operations rather than through isolated tools.

Market shift

Riana Barnard, Industry Analyst at Frost & Sullivan, described the change in customer demand as a move toward integrated trust systems.

"Organisations are moving beyond standalone e-signature tools toward integrated digital trust architectures that combine identity verification, signing, and integrity controls," Barnard said.

"DigiCert's PKI-native approach provides a trusted foundation for these capabilities, helping organisations establish a single, auditable trust backbone across digital transactions while preparing for evolving regulatory and security requirements," she added.

The reference to a PKI-native model points to DigiCert's long-standing business in public key infrastructure, the technology used to issue and manage digital certificates. It underpins secure communications, digital identities and electronic document signing across many corporate and public sector systems.

DigiCert has sought to expand that base into a broader digital trust offering as companies contend with a growing number of identities, devices, software components and documents that must be authenticated. It also markets tools for certificate lifecycle management and related security functions.

Growing pressure

Deepika Chauhan, Chief Product Officer at DigiCert, said the rise of AI-generated content was changing expectations around online trust.

"Organisations are under growing pressure to know what they can trust online," Chauhan said.

"AI is changing how digital content is created and shared, and that is raising the bar for proving authenticity. We believe trust needs to be built into the foundation of every digital interaction," she said.

DigiCert says it serves more than 125,000 organisations, including 90% of the Fortune 500. It is one of the better-known suppliers in certificate security and has broadened its focus as trust and verification become more central to document workflows, software supply chains and online identity systems.

Frost & Sullivan's recognition places DigiCert among companies benefiting from a market in which digital signatures alone are no longer seen as sufficient proof. The stronger requirement now is for an auditable chain linking identity, content integrity and long-term verification.
