Consistent Infosystems has launched the KAVACH USB 3.0 external SSD in India.

Available in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB variants, the portable storage device targets users seeking external storage for documents, media files and other large data transfers. Consistent said it offers read speeds of up to 450 MB/s and transfer rates of up to 6Gbps through USB 3.0 connectivity.

The launch expands the company's storage line-up at a time when demand for portable data storage continues to grow with file sizes in work, study and content creation. External solid-state drives have become a common tool for backing up files, moving projects between devices and expanding storage without opening a computer.

According to the company, KAVACH supports Windows, Mac OS and Linux. It uses a Micro-B interface and has an ABS and aluminium alloy enclosure designed to balance durability with a lightweight form.

The device is positioned for a broad customer base, including professionals, students, content creators and general consumers. That reflects a wider shift in the storage market, where products once aimed mainly at specialist users are increasingly sold as everyday accessories for households and small businesses.

India has become a crowded market for personal storage devices, with domestic and international brands competing on speed, capacity, portability and price. Against that backdrop, manufacturers have sought to differentiate products through design, operating system compatibility and distribution reach as much as through raw technical specifications.

KAVACH is available through Consistent's channel partner network across India and through its online store. The company has built much of its distribution through offline trade channels, which remain important in India for IT hardware sales outside the largest metropolitan markets.

Company footprint

Based in New Delhi, the company sells IT hardware, networking products, surveillance equipment, print consumables, electronics and gaming products. It says it began operations in 2011 and has since expanded across major states in India.

Consistent says it operates more than 25 branches, has more than 93 service centres, employs more than 400 people directly, exports to more than 17 countries and works with more than 3,795 channel partners across India. It also says it offers a portfolio of more than 693 products.

The company also cited several industry awards linked to motherboards, IP cameras, gaming and solar camera products. These claims point to its efforts to broaden its presence beyond traditional computer peripherals into adjacent consumer and business electronics categories.

Storage has become one of the most competitive segments of the broader hardware market, especially as users handle larger photo libraries, higher-resolution video and heavier software files across multiple devices. For many buyers, portability and compatibility have become as important as headline speed figures, particularly when devices need to move between office, home and mobile settings.

Commenting on the launch, Yogesh Agrawal, CMD and Co-Founder of Consistent Infosystems, said: "With the growing need to store and manage large amounts of digital data, users are looking for storage solutions that are fast, reliable and easy to carry. With KAVACH, we wanted to offer a practical external SSD that combines speed, portability and durability with flexible storage options. It is designed to make everyday data storage and transfers simpler and more convenient, whether users are working, creating content or managing personal files. We will continue to bring dependable and accessible technology solutions that meet the changing needs of our customers."
