SASMOS teams up with ePlane on e200X wiring system

SASMOS HET Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding with The ePlane Company on the e200X eVTOL aircraft programme. The agreement covers work on the aircraft's electrical wiring interconnection system.
Under the agreement, SASMOS will support the engineering, design and industrialisation of the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System, or EWIS, for the e200X, an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft under development in India.
The two companies plan to work together on harness architecture, EWIS engineering, design for manufacturability, prototype evaluation and certification readiness. They have also set out a framework to explore broader supply-chain work tied to electrical and interconnect systems as the aircraft moves from development to industrialisation and serial production.
EWIS forms an aircraft's electrical network, distributing power and data between propulsion, avionics, flight controls and other onboard systems. In electric aircraft, the architecture is closely tied to weight, reliability and certification requirements, making it a key area of design and manufacturing work.
The e200X is being developed as a modular aircraft platform for passenger transport, air ambulance and cargo operations. The partnership with SASMOS is part of The ePlane Company's broader effort to build a supplier base across electrical systems, avionics, composite materials, aerospace fasteners and aircraft interiors.
For SASMOS, the tie-up adds another advanced aerospace project to a business focused on electrical wiring interconnection systems, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies and electromechanical products. The company serves aerospace, defence, space, rail and industrial markets, spanning engineering, design, manufacturing, testing and industrialisation.
Supplier network
The agreement also highlights the emphasis eVTOL developers are placing on specialist suppliers as they move from concept work towards certifiable aircraft. Wiring systems are central to aircraft design because they connect propulsion and control systems while also affecting manufacturability and maintenance.
As a result, supplier selection is a strategic issue for newer aircraft developers, particularly in electric aviation, where system integration can directly affect performance targets and regulatory approval. In this case, The ePlane Company is bringing in a specialist supplier to support one of the aircraft's core electrical systems.

Certification focus
The ePlane Company framed the partnership around certification and the wider supplier ecosystem needed to support the aircraft programme. For eVTOL developers, certification is one of the main hurdles in moving aircraft beyond the prototype stage and into commercial service.
