Westcon-Comstor APAC earns Ecovadis silver for sustainability

Distributor Westcon-Comstor announced that its Asia-Pacific (APAC) division has achieved a silver status with EcoVadis, renowned as the most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. This achievement marks an advancement from last year’s bronze status and places Westcon-Comstor APAC in the top 15% of organisations globally for their sustainability performance.

EcoVadis has assessed over 125,000 businesses thus far. Its ratings rely on international sustainability standards and present an evidence-based analysis of performance while offering a pragmatic roadmap for continuous improvement. By attaining a silver rating, Westcon-Comstor underscores its commitment to both business and environmental stewardship in its operations across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

The company has made significant strides toward transitioning to more sustainable energy sources. Notably, this includes a shift to renewable electricity tariffs alongside efforts to reduce overall energy consumption and minimise environmental impacts at its APAC facilities. Specific actions include the installation of solar panels at their logistics facility in Sydney, Australia, and the provision of electric vehicle (EV) charging points at their offices in Auckland, New Zealand, to benefit employees.

Jason Barker, ESG Lead for APAC at Westcon-Comstor, expressed satisfaction with the silver rating from EcoVadis.
