Thu, 18th Jan 2024

Global technology firm Cognizant has joined forces with Microsoft to launch an innovative generative AI-powered solution called the Innovation Assistant, which is designed to drive Cognizant’s internal innovation programme, known as Bluebolt.

The new tool, one of the largest in the sector to utilise chatbot technology, is intended to advance Cognizant's ability to collaborate and innovate with clients, a feature becoming increasingly vital as they tackle the application and understanding of generative AI.

The Innovation Assistant, constructed on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, will bolster the way Cognizant’s staff innovate while developing and implementing customer-led solutions. It promises to ignite the generation of context-based ideas and solutions, while ensuring that delicate information and client confidentiality are upheld.

Echoing the sentiment that employee creativity is a key distinguishing aspect of their company, Cognizant’s CEO, Ravi Kumar S, said: "Together with Microsoft, we are harnessing the power of generative AI to revolutionise our approach to innovation, with the goal of ensuring we, and our clients, stay ahead in a rapidly evolving business environment."

Falling under the remit of Cognizant’s Bluebolt innovation mechanism, the Innovation Assistant enables any Cognizant employee, wherever their location, to contribute to the process of innovation, from conceptualisation to fruition. It is hoped that the incorporation of generative AI into Bluebolt will enable Cognizant staff to blend virtual guidance with practical support to optimise the company's extensive expertise and co-innovation for the welfare of clients.

Expressing his admiration for the manner in which Cognizant's Innovation Assistant has unlocked potential at various organizational levels, Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft, India & South Asia, said: “Built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, Cognizant’s platform is a force multiplier that aims to enable customers to gain access to insights from enterprise data and stay ahead in the ever-evolving digital landscape.”

The Innovation Assistant upholds Cognizant's dedication towards responsible and ethical AI, prioritising security, safety, privacy, transparency, and inclusivity, the company shared in a statement. It is designed to trigger context-based ideas and solutions while maintaining high levels of confidentiality regarding sensitive information and client data.

Overall, Cognizant is focused on engineering modern businesses. The team is focused on helping clients modernise technology, reimagine processes and transform experiences so they can stay ahead in the modern, fast-changing world.
