Barracuda unveils AI platform to simplify cybersecurity tools

Wed, 4th Jun 2025

Barracuda Networks has confirmed the release of BarracudaONE, a new AI-powered cybersecurity platform designed to consolidate threat protection and cyber resilience for managed service providers, channel partners and end-users.

The launch comes as Barracuda published global survey findings indicating that 67% of Australian IT and security professionals feel they must manage an excessive number of security tools. The study, conducted by Vanson Bourne, further revealed that 62% of respondents see their security tools as unintegrated, leading to complexity and fragmentation in organisational security environments.

The survey data showed 84% of Australian professionals believe that poor integration increases operational costs and response times, with the same percentage stating it weakens their overall threat defence. In addition, 75% indicated poor integration hinders threat detection, while 77% cited challenges in threat mitigation. Only 40% of Australian respondents were fully confident their existing tools are correctly configured, exposing vulnerabilities due to potential misconfigurations.

BarracudaONE addresses these concerns by merging Barracuda's suite of security solutions into a single, integrated platform. A centralised dashboard enables security teams to reduce administrative effort, streamline operations and improve visibility across their digital environments.

Neal Bradbury, Chief Product Officer at Barracuda, commented, "This research serves as a stark wake-up call for organisations still relying on disconnected, siloed security tools. Managing a patchwork of solutions drives up costs and complexity while creating blind spots that attackers are quick to exploit. Security teams simply cannot afford to waste time switching between systems while critical threats go undetected. The path forward is clear: consolidation and integration are essential for cyber resilience. That is exactly why we built BarracudaONE – to improve security operations, reduce risk and enable teams to secure their environments faster and more effectively. We are cutting through the complexity, closing critical gaps and empowering organisations with the confidence and control they need to stay ahead of evolving threats."

Dan McLean, Country Manager, ANZ, Barracuda Networks, added, "The sprawl of disconnected security tools is placing significant strain on IT teams in Australia. Our research shows that security environments have become fragmented, making it harder for teams to manage threats and respond quickly when incidents occur. The launch of BarracudaONE will help local organisations – and their managed service providers - streamline operations through tighter integration, unlocking greater visibility across their environments and strengthening their ability to mitigate risks with greater speed and assurance."

BarracudaONE includes advanced artificial intelligence that the company states has been refined through extensive real-world use. The system's AI drives threat detection, rapid response and intelligence automation. The platform features robust reporting functionalities, providing clear insights into threat activity and the effectiveness of the security measures taken. This feature is intended to help organisations verify their cybersecurity status and make informed, data-driven decisions.

William Mann, Chief Information Security Officer at the Borough of West Chester, Pennsylvania, shared his experience with BarracudaONE: "BarracudaONE is a shields-up force multiplier that helps us safeguard critical municipal services – including our police dispatcher centre, police and fire departments, as well as wastewater, finance and other essential operations. The ability to manage multiple security modules through a single, centralised dashboard is transformational. Barracuda Email Protection's incident response capabilities are mission-critical, and with BarracudaONE, they're more accessible, faster and easier to manage. The streamlined experience of having fewer clicks and faster insights enables us to prioritise threats and respond with the speed and precision our first responders, government teams and community depend on."

Tyler Bracken, Director of Network Operations at OpX Networks, noted, "As an MSP, BarracudaONE isn't just another tool – it's a strategic differentiator for our business. We're already using BarracudaONE as a powerful sales asset to clearly demonstrate the value we deliver and make ROI tangible for our customers. Cybersecurity can sometimes be a challenging sell, clouded by misconceptions around complexity and cost. BarracudaONE helps shift that narrative. Its rich telemetry and real-time insights enable us to show exactly what threats we're neutralising and the protection we're providing. That level of transparency builds trust with our customers and gives us a strong advantage in a crowded market."

Adam Butler, Principal Cyber Solutions Architect at ARO, said, "BarracudaONE brings all our Barracuda solutions into a unified, powerful platform – delivering centralised visibility, real-time alerts and actionable reporting. It represents a major step forward for our customers, and an even greater advantage for us as an MSP overseeing thousands of customer environments. With BarracudaONE, we can pinpoint security gaps faster, prioritise alerts with greater accuracy and generate high-value reports in seconds."

BarracudaONE is now available at no extra cost to managed service providers, partners and customers who are already using Barracuda Email Protection, Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup and Barracuda Data Inspector. The platform offers a centralised solution interface for managing security solutions and licences, and users can further enhance their security posture with Barracuda Managed XDR, a 24/7 service supported by Barracuda's security operations centre.
