New Relic named leader in Gartner's 2025 Magic Quadrant for DEM

Tue, 11th Nov 2025

New Relic has been named a Leader in Gartner's 2025 Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM), marking its second consecutive year in the position.

The evaluation focused on criteria such as current product capabilities, market responsiveness, and overall strategy in the DEM space.

Market position

The recognition for New Relic in DEM follows its continued placement as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms, a position the company has held for 13 years. Gartner's Magic Quadrant assesses vendors on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision in the digital experience monitoring sector.

Leading companies in the report, such as New Relic, are identified as offering extensive functionality for IT teams across multiple sectors and geographic regions. These companies demonstrate strong roadmaps and customer adoption.

Product integration

New Relic's DEM platform integrates with its wider Intelligent Observability Platform, delivering a unified environment to monitor and improve digital experiences in real time. The company provides visibility across mobile applications, web environments, synthetic monitoring, and network systems.

These capabilities work alongside application performance monitoring, logging, and security features in a single platform.

Key features highlighted by New Relic include user-path replay filtering, unified performance views within application monitoring modules, synthetic testing with mobile device emulation, and transaction tracing from end to end. Auto-instrumented user actions help IT and business teams identify bottlenecks and link usability friction to business impact. Agentic integrations with third-party tools, as well as deployment support for platforms like OpenShift and Terraform, are designed to streamline workflows.

Customer insights

The platform's AI-strengthened capabilities aim to bring actionable experience insights to a broad range of teams beyond IT, including marketing and customer support. Features such as no-code logs, ANR (application not responding) analysis, a mobile crash inbox, and session replay help organisations trace and resolve incidents more quickly and maintain overall customer satisfaction.

For streaming media clients, New Relic also offers Streaming Video & Ads Intelligence as part of its DEM suite. This solution helps monitor video and ad delivery quality across devices and global regions, supporting the needs of media companies dealing with high traffic and complex delivery environments.

Industry validation

"We are honored to once again be named a Leader by Gartner in its second Magic Quadrant for DEM. In our view, this recognition validates our continuous vision and execution of bringing our customers an AI-strengthened solution for stopping any performance bottlenecks before they erode revenue and reputation," said New Relic CEO Ashan Willy.

"We are a strong choice for any organization requiring deep and broad insights into user interactions and customer journeys, essential capabilities for any successful digital business today," said Willy.
