Celonis & Cavalis launch app to streamline manufacturing data

Fri, 31st Oct 2025

Celonis and Cavalis have launched an application designed to help manufacturing firms gain a real-time, data-driven understanding of their product portfolios and reduce operational complexity.

The Celonis Product Portfolio Optimisation for Manufacturing app, developed through a partnership between Celonis, a process intelligence company, and Cavalis, a management consulting and data analytics firm, aims to provide manufacturers with actionable insight into their product lifecycle and operational performance.

Operational challenges

Manufacturing companies are currently responding to increased uncertainty related to global supply chain disruptions and volatile production costs. The Celonis and Cavalis app has been developed to address these challenges by helping companies make more informed, timely decisions regarding product management.

The solution forms part of the Celonis Platform Apps Programme, which offers pre-built solutions for specific sectors and operational needs leveraging the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform. The new manufacturing optimisation application has already been implemented by a global manufacturer to streamline the process of aligning material master data for components and finished goods, reportedly making the task more efficient and user-friendly.

AI and process intelligence

"AI is bringing unprecedented opportunities to the manufacturing industry - and yet most companies still struggle to realise this full potential in the areas that matter the most," said Liam Mawe, Global VP, Industries at Celonis.

Liam Mawe further stated, "This new app helps close that gap. By combining our Process Intelligence with Cavalis' domain expertise, we supply AI the rich context it needs to define, monitor and update complex product portfolios in real time, leading to substantial impact to both top and bottom lines."

Fabian Gatzka, Managing Director and Co-Founder at Cavalis, highlighted the shift in approach the app brings to product portfolio management. He said:

"Product portfolio management has traditionally been a manual, fragmented process, bogged down by siloed data and disconnected teams. By bringing Celonis Process Intelligence to the core of this workflow, we are turning it into a strategic, intelligent advantage that helps companies achieve real-world business outcomes."

Digital twin technology

The application utilises data across procurement, order management, production, and supply chain systems to generate what the companies describe as a living digital twin of a product's lifecycle. This model provides a dynamic and updated representation of products as they progress through various manufacturing, distribution, and sales channels.

One critical feature of the app is its capability to decompose bill of materials (BoM). This functionality offers granular insights into the product mix, allowing organisations to pinpoint key cost drivers, assess the dependencies between components, and identify opportunities for standardisation to reduce costs. The information is positioned to help product managers make portfolio decisions that are more closely aligned with market demand and operational efficiency.

Reported benefits

According to Celonis and Cavalis, several practical benefits are associated with the new app. These include real-time insights for evaluating product performance, profitability, and efficiency, as well as support for data-driven decisions that can streamline product rationalisation and better align offerings to market requirements.

Additional claimed outcomes include optimisation of product decommissioning strategies, improvements in operational efficiency by identifying and addressing production bottlenecks, and revenue growth supported by freeing operational capacity for new products and decreasing manual workloads and complexity.
